Basic Computer Course (BCC) – Complete Syllabus

The Basic Computer Course (BCC) developed by NIELIT aims to provide fundamental computer knowledge to common users. The course is designed to make individuals digitally literate and capable of performing essential computer operations such as creating documents, spreadsheets, presentations, accessing the internet, using email, and performing digital financial transactions.

Course Objective

The objective of the Basic Computer Course is to impart a basic level appreciation of computers and digital technologies among individuals. After completing this course, learners will be able to perform basic tasks such as preparing personal or business letters, creating spreadsheets, preparing presentations, browsing information on the internet, and using email services.

Participants will also learn to use social media platforms, access e-governance services, and perform digital financial transactions using modern digital tools. This course particularly helps small business owners, housewives, and beginners become part of the digital ecosystem and manage basic digital tasks effectively.

Course Duration

Total Duration: 36 Hours

  • Theory: 14 Hours
  • Practical: 22 Hours

The course may also be conducted as a 6-day full-time intensive training program.

Eligibility

There is no minimum educational qualification required to enroll in the Basic Computer Course (BCC). Anyone interested in learning basic computer skills can apply and appear for the examination.

This chapter introduces learners to the fundamentals of computers and modern information technology devices. Students learn about the basic structure and components of a computer system and understand how computers are used in everyday applications.
